I Must Share

Hello Loves,

I just have to share, because I am Shari. My name associated with sharing used to make me cringe back in my younger years when I was denying my superpower of being kind. I held conditioning that being kind didn’t get you anything in this world; and it definitely wasn’t a way towards success. When people would call me "Share Bear", inside I would want to punch them in the face. When I would hear, “It’s so nice that you care”, it felt like the biggest insult because I could sense smugness in the voice that said it. Or “Shari is so sweet.” Blech! Made me want to puke. It made me want to scream at the top of my lungs, “I am not SWEET!”. But, what I was really hearing was, you will never amount to anything. You are not that smart. Wake up, the world does not work by caring about others and their feelings! Ugh! …..I am so grateful that I have woken up to see this is all a lie. The truth is, I amsweet, kind, and caring. That it is my superpower and I do feel that kindness and caring ARE what is going to save humanity and the planet.

So this leads me to sharing: if you haven’t already seen the Ted Lasso series on AppleTV, you must! It is precious. In the show, you will see leadership that is kind and caring. It will bring so much joy to your heart. I am devastated I have to wait until the fall for the next episode.

Also, (I am sad I am not getting this out earlier because they are already on Day 4), but you must know about, The People's Inauguration - A 10 Day Journey, led by Valarie Kaur and produced by Sounds True. It is AMAZING! I am watching every minute of what is offered and I just want to crawl in through my screen to hug and weep with Valarie and her guests. It’s truly a gift for all of us and it’s FREE for these 10 days. Honestly, you will be so inspired. Sign up and start listening. The practices she has are so meaningful for what is trying to be born in our country right now.

As is evident from Valarie's work, each one of us has innate kindness. If it feels far away right now because you are caught in some conditional pattern of thinking such as, "I am unworthy or, I am falling short or, I don’t belong/fit in; take a few minutes to sit with your heart. Let that be an act of kindness. Let it wash through your being. Let images of all the kindness you put out into the world come to mind- maybe it’s a smile, a hug, a compliment. Maybe it’s making a meal for someone, sending a warm or funny message, or holding the door for a stranger. Maybe it’s the snuggle you give your dog, the floor you swept, or the car you let in to traffic. This innate kindness lives within you. You do care! This is Love moving through you and, it is getting called to action.

Therefore, I want to offer a new series, "Write Your Story" based on the journal, "What's Your Story?" by Lily Diamond and Rebecca Walker. I love what Lily and Rebecca are sharing, (here is the podcast that inspired me). Their journal reminds me of Rod Stryker's book, "The Four Desires", but more from the feminine point of view. And, I believe it is the feminine that will have the most leverage in healing the huge imbalances we are all experiencing today.

As an aside, ten years ago I was afraid to put out there the work of, "The Four Desires", because I wasn’t a meditator and/or a therapist, but I did anyway. What has transformed in this last decade from me putting it out there (and meditating) has been tremendous, not just in my own life, but in the transformation(s) I have witnessed in others too. And while I am anxious about presenting "Write Your Story?", as I don’t consider myself a writer or an activist, something is saying “Do it!”. So here goes!

I hope you will join me. The series will be eight weeks long every Wednesday evening starting February 3. Even if you have done Yoga For Fulfillment with me in the past, I think you will get a lot out of this new endeavor. I have talked to Word for Word Bookstore in Truckee and they are ordering a few extra copies of "What's Your Story?" for us. I love supporting them, and you can also get the journal online.

So Yogis, we are being asked to step into our superpowers. The world needs us more than ever right now! Let's do this together.

Love you all!

Namaste,
Shari
