The Call to Love

The Call to Love

Hi Loves,

I hope you have been able to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. There is so much vibrancy. I love Spring. It's always been a time to feel sexy and alive coming out of the long winters we have here in Tahoe. I have been feeling in to those that are without partners right now and just want to wrap them all in a big giant hug. I want to tell them how incredibly courageous they are. To not have touched another in quite sometime is HUGE. The longest I have ever done is a week and I couldn't wait to wrap individuals in a big hug, especially my daughter. Big differences with our whole situation now is that I signed up to be in my aloneness and I knew when it was going to be over. I know what I have learned about myself in silent retreats and being in my aloneness has been invaluable. And I am sure that those that find themselves on their own through this are learning so much. AND we are social beings. We are wired for connection in all the ways that looks like. I also know that there are individuals that are going thru this that are in relationships that are very challenged and they too feel very lonely. We all want to feel taken care of in some way, that we are not going thru this all on our own. This is hard. As soon as we admit that, it all seems to get a bit easier because we know in our hearts we will get thru this however that looks.

Cleaning Up

Cleaning Up

Happy Earth Day Lovers!

Cleaning up is hot! Don't you agree? I am so attracted to those that are actively working on cleaning up. We have a lot of sh*t to clean up in our living spaces- bodies, minds, and relationships; and isn't that reflected by mother EARTH especially during this time of the virus. It can feel so overwhelming to the mind that we disconnect in some way(s) and feel like we are in one big sh*tstorm. This is where a yoga and meditation practice is so helpful and (my own belief), essential. It's the calm in the storm. Movement brings us into our bodies to feel what's here, what needs attending too. It gives us the steadiness to be with what is messy. And it gives us the clarity to show us where to act/clean up. Lastly, it connects us to the truth of who we are and it shows us that we are not separate from each other and Mama Earth. Cleaning up our inner landscape, cleans up Mama Earth.

How are you Exploring Trust

How are you Exploring Trust

Hi Loves,

How are you right now? Just take a moment, close your eyes, drop in with yourself. There; I bet you are ok.

Now, watch the mind come in and quickly look for some proof of not "OK" or some validation of the Okayness. If you are not feeling OK, close your eyes, drop in- can you sense underneath the "not OK" there is an okayness? You are still here, still breathing. (I know this has grammatical errors and even a made up word-"okayness", but I am going to trust that it makes sense as you feel it. For example, when I close my eyes and "drop in," I can sense that even if I wasn't here and wasn't breathing that I would still be ok. And when the mind gets excited thinking about how the world would be without me in it, I can still sense okayness there too. Does anyone else feel that?

Finding Immunity in Community

Finding Immunity in Community

Hi Loves,

Hope you all are feeling safe and healthy. I feel the only place of true safety is in our own heart and when we reside in our own heart, the health of our mind, body, relationships and community follow. Have you sensed that for yourself during this life experience we are all having no matter what it looks like on the outside? When we are in our heart's space it's easy to connect with each other. Our minds feel at ease, our bodies feel at ease and there is an ease to our relating with ourselves and each other. It feels healthy. Have you noticed when engaging with others that more and more people feel like they are residing in their heart's space now? And when you come across someone that is not in their heart's space, you see clearly they are caught in some version of fear, you have compassion for them and they quickly come around? Have you noticed you and the others you are engaged with are making healthier choices for what you are ingesting, not just your mouth, but thru your senses? Are you and others you observe taking better care by exercising and getting outside? Are you finding you are making better choices for what truly serves you and the whole? I feel like I am witnessing a big healing, myself included of course. We are finally getting healthy and sober to the preciousness of this life. This is building our strength, resiliency and immunity, which is strongest in community.

What are you Watching?

Hi Loves,

How you BE? I hope that with all the life that is swirling around right now you are getting time to just BE. BE with the life that is right here, maybe right on your couch. I know some of you are scrambling trying to make things ok in this new "normal" and quickly changing world. Bless you and thank you. I am loving watching the creativity move through. But when I drop in I keep getting these messages:

How does FEAR make you ACT?

How does FEAR make you ACT?

Hi Loves,

I hope you all got out to vote today. Our actions matter.

Such interesting times we are living in right now and we might be sensing some underlying fear. Yes? So what are you doing with fear? And how is it making you act?

We all have ways that fear can make us act and often not in the most conscious ways. My unbecoming personal pattern is reaching for the chocolate and nut butter and getting contracted around my child's unbecoming behavior ahem (they sure do have some resemblance to mine). Sigh....

Aim at LOVE!

Aim at LOVE!

Hi Loves,

Shooter Bowl Sunday was so much Fun! Sisters if you have any interest in nordic skiing, you must put this on your calendar for next year's Super Bowl Sunday. It really doesn't matter your level of skiing. We had a full range Sunday and everyone had a blast. Fortunately these guns don't blast anything, but only make a little light on the target turn green which is so satisfying especially when you have skied a lap gotten your heart pumping, your lungs working and you find that steady place at the bottom of the exhale. Then dink! I almost want hearts to bubble up out of the target. So my theme for this event is always aim at love. I love that we raised $289 for the Sierra Community House. Next year I would love to double that. If you didn't know, Project Mana, Tahoe Safe Alliance and Family Resource Center are now under one umbrella the Sierra Community House which provides hunger relief & food programs, crisis intervention & prevention, family support & community engagement and finally mediation & legal assistance. Click HERE if you want to learn more or even better donate. Ben likes to call this event "Guns and Yogis" because we do start and end with yoga with the whole event as a meditation, the underlying theme of LOVE. Thank you to all of those that made it. It was a joy to share with you all!

Home!

Home!

Aloha!

I find myself on my last day of this fantastical trip now knowing why I came back to Hawaii. It was to come home. I thought it was going to be about closure with a past lover, teacher and community. Turns out I have already had closure with the past lover and teacher. Now they are just precious memories that I get to recall and feel the gratitude for what they gave me. As for the community there is no closure, the door is open to the folks that I still want to connect with. Then I thought it was a reclaiming. Reclaiming my right to be here on this gorgeous island, but found that right was never taken away. She welcomed me with a huge, warm embrace, whispering in my ear, "where have you been?". And boy how, we have been delighting in each other with all the magical sunrises, the beaches, the mountains, the water, the waves. The birds, the geckos, the whales, sharks, seals and turtles. The flowers, the trees, the warm breezes. It's been heaven being home. Home in my heart that is.
